Jaffa
Posted: 26 November, 2011
Jaffa, just south of Tel Aviv, is considered by many to be the oldest port city in the world. |
The Spirit of God directed Zev to the beautiful and historic city of Jaffa to proclaim the wonderful gift of salvation. His car was loaded down with so many bibles it could barely make the trip. See photos.

One man named Solomon asked Zev why he was giving out Bibles. Zev told him that it is God's love letter to all people. Solomon replied, "You know we are living in very dangerous times and Iran wants to destroy us. We don't need Bibles, we need a big army!"
Zev said, "It's not a coincidence we met here today, Solomon. The God of Israel is the only solution for peace! His Word tells us in Genesis 12:3 that whoever blesses Israel He will bless and whoever curses Israel He will curse."
Zev showed it is the Lord who will take vengeance on anyone who tries to destroy Israel. Solomon said, "I don't believe God can protect my family if we are attacked. Besides, I'm not religious and I don't know God." After hearing this Zev shared his testimony and explained that, although he tried, he could never realize God's love and providence through religion.
He went on to say it wasn't until he was saved by His love and grace that he could have a relationship with God and enjoy His everlasting protection. He exhorted Solomon to realize we are truly protected and saved from an eternity in Hell if we turn from our sin and put our trust in the Lord.
"Show me where it talks about God's love in the Bible?" Solomon demanded. Zev opened to Zephaniah 3:17 and read, "The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing." See photo.
| "This is the God that saves." Zev said. "But how?" asked Solomon. "Through His Son, the Messiah of Israel, who died for our sins and was raised on the third day so that we could have eternal life." he replied. Then the Spirit moved Zev to read to him from Isaiah 53. |

Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:1-5 NIV)
Solomon asked, "Who is this Messiah and what is His name?" Zev announced, "Yeshua is our Messiah!" He was hungry for the truth. Please pray the seed that was planted in Solomon would to continue to be watered. See photo.
![]() We continued to give testimony to the truth of the Messiah and saturate Jaffa with the Word of God. See photos. |

Can You Read the Bible?
Posted: 16 November, 2011

The truth is one touch from the Word of God can set captives free forever! Ya'akov (James) declares, "Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the Word implanted, which is able to save your souls. (James 1:21 NASB)
How can Israel "receive the Word implanted" if it has been removed from their grasp? This is one of the major issues we face when sharing Yeshua. It's not that Bibles are scarce in the Land or hard to acquire. No, the problem is that most Israelis have bought the lie that they can't read it without proper interpretation from their rabbi.
God sent His Holy Spirit to help us break strongholds such as this. He is constantly delivering fresh and innovative ideas in order for us to reach out to religious and secular Jews all over the nation.
We always like to connect with other followers of the Master, both indigenous and from abroad before we begin an outreach. We petition God for guidance, protection, and revelation for the people we are led to speak with. This day was no different as Zev and Lian began by praying with a group of believers from New Zealand.
The Holy Spirit led Zev to ask people on the street if they can read the Bible. An orthodox man named Abraham replied to Zev, "Of course I can." Zev then opened the Bible to Genesis 1 and asked him to read. After Abraham read the chapter Zev inquired, "Could you explain what it says?" Abraham replied, "Yes, of course, it is talking about God's creation." Zev then asked if he was sure. He replied, "Yes, a little boy could read this!" Zev said, "But the rabbis say we can't read this without their help." Abraham thought for a second and said that is nonsense. Glory to King Yeshua! The Holy Spirit was opening his eyes. See photo.

Zev then turned to Psalm 2 and asked Abraham to read the passage.
Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, "Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us." He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, "As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill." I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, "You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. "Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (Psalm 2:1-12 ESV)
As he was reading Zev noticed he was almost choking on His words and began to say, "Maybe I need to go get my rabbi, it is too difficult for me." Zev reminded him that he just said it's nonsense to need a rabbi in order to read the Bible. "But it says here God has a Son. How could this be true? I have been reading Psalms for over 20 years and never noticed this!" Abraham exclaimed.
Zev gently said to him. "God's Son is the Messiah of Israel. He paid the full price so you can have eternal life if you believe in Him. We must glorify God and worship His Son, the true Savior of Israel and the world."
Abraham was breathless. The lie of the enemy that says we can't read the Scriptures without rabbinic interpretation was removed. Zev gave him a Bible and Bible DVD with contact information. See photo.

Zev and Lian continued to share the good news with people by asking them the same question, "Can you read the Bible?" For many, the barrier was eliminated that day! See photos.

Dear friends, as you see these photos and look at the people we are sharing with, could you please pray for their salvation. There is power in prayer!
Maybe There Is A God?
Posted: 5 November, 2011

Zev could sense a spiritual hunger as he was walking the streets of Tel Aviv. Unfortunately, most were trying to feed their spirit with the lust of the world. People were sitting in bars getting drunk, women were dressed very inappropriately, and homosexual people were openly kissing each other as gay bars and clubs are being opened everywhere in the city. Young people were lining up to get tattoos and piercings all over their bodies. It appears the city and the nation itself has slid into moral decay. The people need the love, hope, and light of Yeshua more than ever!
Yoram was sitting on a bench and looked very depressed as Zev approached him to say shalom. He observed Bibles and Bible DVDs in Zev's hand and told him he didn't want to buy anything. Zev said he was not there to sell him anything and gently told Yoram that what he had was free for all who would receive it.
Yoram looked puzzled, so Zev explained that God loves him so much and does not want him to be distressed. He said the reason he is heartbroken is because his son and daughter were killed in a car wreck three years ago. He lamented that his life meant nothing and asked Zev how he could say God loves him when he doesn't even believe there is a God. See photo.

Zev said he was very sorry for what happened to his family and it was not a coincidence they met. He revealed to him the fact that God knew this day would happen before the foundation of the world. Yoram was very touched by Zev's compassion but still insisted there was no God.
At that moment Zev was prompted by the Spirit to look up and direct Yoram's attention to the beautiful sunset that was taking place. Yoram suddenly looked astonished and said it was the most amazing thing he had seen in a while. Zev asked him who he thought made that beautiful painting. Yoram, as he was looking intently into the sunset, said I don't know. Zev then asked him if he believed there was a chance someone could have made this very special picture. At that moment Yoram broke down and said yes. As tears began to fall, he whispered these wonderful words, "Maybe there is a God." Glory to the King, the Holy Spirit was working on him!
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. (Romans 1:20 ESV)
The conversation continued as Zev told him that God is calling him. Yoram asked how he could go to God and thought maybe he should wrap Tefillin. Zev said God wants your heart and He gave His Son, the Messiah of Israel, so that we could have eternal life.
Yoram wanted to hear more and seemed to have joy again just by their conversation. He said he had to go but wanted to meet with Zev very soon to discuss this again. Please pray for Yoram. Pray that the Lord will continue to reveal himself to him and heal him mentally and spiritually.
Zev and Lian continued to share the love of our Messiah on the streets of Tel Aviv. They passed out Bibles and Bible DVDs to many people. See photos.
